Get to know Noriko:



I grew up dancing and active in various sports, which meant my body was pretty toned and muscular by the time I moved to Edmonton after high school. Although my last year in high school I did deal with body image issues and disordered eating.
My weight fluctuated quite a bit up until I got pregnant in the middle of completing my
Administrative Assistant’s Diploma at MacEwan University. After I had my son, the gym
became the place the escape and have some time to myself. Thankfully muscle memory is a thing, and I started to see some great results.
After becoming a single mom and continuing to work hard at the gym, I decided to try and  compete in a fitness competition. There were many parts of the experience that would end up affecting my life for years later. Even going as far as competing in another competition thinking it would solve my body and food issues (spoiler alert – it didn’t).
After some hard personal work, I have been finally able to be in a place where I am happy with my body and I no longer think awful things about myself.
Wanting to help others feel good about themselves and their bodies, I decided to get my
personal training certification (also helps that my husband has been a personal trainer for years).
So although I’m newly certified as a personal trainer, I am more than familiar with the struggles we all face, especially when working in an industry that places so much value on your looks.
I started modeling as a hobby 6 years ago, and it remains one of my passions. I know how to best prepare for a photo-shoot depending on the type of shoot, and how to do it in a way that won’t sacrifice your health.
